Builders Transportation Company (“BTC”) has been family owned and operated since 1954. Frank P. Phillips, Sr. serves as President with his three sons, Frank P. Phillips, Jr., John P. Phillips, and Gene B. Phillips serving as Vice Presidents.
Presently the company owns and leases approximately 335 tractors and 350 trailers. Most of the fleet consists of late model Macks. The trailers include 45 foot air ride spread axle trailers, 48 foot air ride spread axle trailers, 45 foot tandem trailers and 45 foot to 65 foot extendible trailers.
BTC serves the 48 continental states under general commodities as a common carrier, contract carrier, and brokerage authority. The fleet average is 2500 to 3000 miles a week.
The principle commodities that BTC transports are: coil steel, wire products, structural and sheet steel, aluminum products, building materials, cast iron and steel pipe, and machinery.
BTC’s central dispatch and terminal is located in Memphis, Tennessee. Equipment pools are in Birmingham, AL, Little Rock, AR, Louisville, KY, New Orleans, LA, Chicago, IL, St. Louis, MO, Cleveland, OH, Cincinnati, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Charlotte, NC, Nashville, TN, Dallas and Houston, TX.
